Direction, text and design of 'We', produced by Huis en Festival aan de Werf, premiere May 23th 2008. Touring in the summer of 2008: Over 't IJ Festival in Amsterdam, De Karavaan in Heilloo and BIES in Dordrecht.
The performance 'We' takes place in a round wouden construction, placed in public space. The spectator sits individually in one of the 16 wooden cabins. In front of him living portraits appear from darkness. Initially far away, later on the faces come closer and closer. The spectator gets the chance to take a good and true look at the faces in front of him. But he too, is being watched, described and approached. In this way the oppurtunity is created for questions like how do I look at you? who are you? but most important: who am I? To read more, click on the read-more link on the left.
